Obituary of Joan Swanson Fellows
Joan Fellows (nee: Alderson)
Joan was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world peacefully on January 30, 2022 at the age of 88. She was born to Gordon and Dorothea Alderson on July 9, 1933 as the youngest sibling to Bobby, Isobel and Dolly. Joan will be affectionately remembered by her husband of 65 years, Bill, their sons, Bob (Lisa) and Brian (Sue), grandchildren, Bryce (Bibit), Chad (Kelsey), Brianne (Bruce) and Lauren (C.J) and great-grandchildren Quinn and Raelynn. The only thing that could rival Joan’s love of her family, was her passion for hockey, especially watching her favourite teams, the Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers. As a devoted fan, she rarely missed a game. Beyond her family, Joan was a well-respected executive secretary for CN Rail. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her extended family and her many friends in Toronto, Windsor, St. Albert, and Port Perry.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sjogren’s Foundation of Canada, Research Fund. In accordance with the family’s wishes and COVID 19 regulations, everyone must call the funeral home (905) 877-3631) to register for the service and be prepared to provide proof of vaccination.
