Obituary for
Joanne Susan McAuley
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joanne Susan McAuley of Sherwood Park, AB, at the age of 71 years, on April 26, 2022.
Joanne was employed by Strathcona County for over 30 years, retiring in 2015 as Manager of Employee and Family Assistance Programs. She most loved this role and was well suited for it with her kind, caring and devoted nature. She spent her free time with family and friends and had a special enthusiasm for the ladies of her quilting guild, golf league and church group.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 52 years, Jim; sons, Chris (Jeanette) and Mike (Annie); grandchildren, Madison, Melissa, and Jessica (Cory); sister, Joyce (Bob) Riley; as well as numerous loved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is now reunited with her parents, Joseph “Merv” and Else “Sue” Palframan; and brothers, Jim and John (Caroline).
The family wishes to thank all those who have reached out during these trying times.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sherwood Park United Church, 20 Fir Street, Sherwood Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Strathcona County Women’s Shelter, Victim Services Unit, Bissell Centre or the Rainbow Society of Alberta.
