Allen, Joan… We sadly announce the passing of our mother, Joan Allen, peacefully at home on Monday April 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 91 years. Beloved daughter of the late Milton & Pearl McMillan. Loving wife of the late Jack Allen (2004). Devoted mother to Glenda (the late Tom), Rex (Eileen), Betty Dawn O’Halloran (Jim), Bonnie (Peter), Holly Quinlan (Howard), Terry (Helen), Wendy Crothers (Pete),and the late Donald “Sid” (2020). She will be greatly missed by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Flex McMillan (Doris), Lavigne Halstead (Bill) and Betty McNeely (Jack) and remembered fondly by their families. Mom leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service to her family, friends and community. Cremation will take place and arrangements for a service to celebrate Mom’s life will take place at St. Paul’s United Church, Warkworth on May 20, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Private family interment to follow. Reception to follow in the gathering hall of St. Paul’s United Church where folks can visit and share memories of Joan. Due to the possibility of capacity restrictions please RSVP for the service at rsvp@weaverfuneralhomes.com or call during business hours 705-924-2312 to confirm your attendance and also be prepared to wear a mask indoors out of respect for the family. If desired memorial donations to St. Paul’s United Church, Warkworth or The Bridge Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
