Jerry D Mitchell – age 83 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022. As a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, TN, Jerry loved the Lord and sharing the Gospel. He was a member of the Charles McKinney Masonic Lodge 433 F&AM, Shriner’s, and the Scottish Rite. The joy of his life was helping to raise his grandchildren, Hayley and Matthew.
Preceded in death by wife of 64 years, Lena O’Dell Mitchell; parents, Ben and Mary Mitchell; six brothers; and 3 sisters.
Survived by daughters, Denise (Jeffrey) Jinnett and Paula (Ray) Buttrey; sister, Shirley Bowman; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be a call-of-convenience 12:00-4:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM on Friday at Berry Highland South Memorial Park for an 11:00 AM graveside service with Pastor Justin Pratt and Rev. Charlie Lynch officiating.
