Our beloved Jennifer Jack, 64, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2022, at the Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital with her husband by her side, after a short but challenging three year battle with a rare progressive neurological disease called Corticobasal Degeneration. She leaves behind Ian, her husband of 42 years, her children Andrea (William) and Taylor (Marcy), and her sweet Maltese, JD. Born April 4, 1958, and raised in the east end of Toronto, she was the eldest of four children to Marjorie & Alex Munro, and big sister to Donna, Alex and Allison. She will be missed and remembered dearly by many members of her large extended family, including her in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jennifer worked for First Student Canada at the Ajax branch, as Payroll Administrator and Dispatcher until she retired in 2014. From there, retirement saw Jennifer and Ian moving 3 hours North of Toronto to fulfill their dream of building a retirement home on their property in Harcourt, Ontario.
Jennifer was a force to be reckoned with. She was compassionate, caring and kind. Outgoing and friendly by nature, she was always offering a warm “hello!” to friends and strangers alike, and she always made you feel welcome and accepted. She was a devoted partner and friend, and was an incredibly nurturing and loving Mum, who would do anything for her kids. Jennifer had a zest for life and enjoyed the simple pleasures that life had to offer! She loved baking (especially at Christmas!), cooking, gardening, feeding the birds, spending time on the pontoon boat or swimming in the cove, a good red wine, and socializing with friends. She enjoyed her morning tea on the deck, an area she coined “her happy place”, amongst the trees, chipmunks and the birds. A huge lover of music, Jennifer loved to put on her tunes, and she loved to dance, especially impromptu kitchen dance parties, often including a classic air guitar. No matter what Jennifer was doing, it was often met with endless positivity, smiling and infectious laughter. Jennifer will be dearly missed, and lovingly remembered by those whose lives she warmed.
To honour Jennifer’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Spring Lakes Golf Club in Stouffville, Ontario. There will be no service, however it will be an open house drop-in between 1:00pm – 5:00pm. We welcome anyone who knew Jennifer to attend, enjoy some refreshments, and share with us in remembering her wonderful life, and how she touched so many.
Our family requests, for those who wish to express sympathy, that in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation in memory of Jennifer at the Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital where she had exceptional care in the last months of her life. Alternatively, you can make a memoriam donation in remembrance of Jennifer, at the PSP Society of Canada to contribute to the research and fight to cure PSP, CBD & MSA.
