Obituary For Jennifer Anne Wrzosek
On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, Jennifer Anne Wrzosek, passed away at the age of 74 years, in Mexico with her husband and children by her side. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Jennifer will be dearly missed and remembered by everyone that she met.
Jennifer was born in Aruba, on December 19, 1947. She moved to Edmonton, AB, with her parents Noel and Elsie, and her younger sister Allyson. She was the oldest of three children: Jennifer, Allyson and Robert. Jennifer moved to Grande Prairie, AB, to pursue her teaching career in 1970, and met Ambrose (Ambi). They got married later on that year, celebrating their love on her birthday. Shortly after getting married, they moved to Yellowknife, NT, where they began their beautiful family. Camille, Carey and Andrea were born there before they moved back to Grande Prairie in the summer of ’79. The family was complete when Janelle was born a few years later.
Jennifer was an active member in the community. She sat on numerous boards and committees both locally and provincially. She was actively involved with the St. Joseph Catholic Church and Peace Retreats. After retirement, Jennifer wrote and published two books and was aspiring to write many more. Her transition into retirement allowed her to continue her desire for lifelong learning. She also volunteered numerous hours in schools in Mexico and in Grande Prairie. She will be remembered for how well she cared for children. Jennifer was a teacher for the Grande Prairie Catholic District for over 25 years and continued teaching her grandchildren after she retired at the age of 58. She inspired people with her love of literature and spirituality. Her faith, compassion, good humor, and warmth shone through. Jennifer was the voice of reason. Her faith made people stronger. Jennifer brought life to others through her joy, hope and infectious laugh. May we all follow her example.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Ambi of 51 years; daughters: Cami, Andrea, and Janelle (Blaine); son Carey (Marzena); grandchildren: Keenan, Cassidy, Jake, Tessa, Kinley and Porter. She is also survived by her sister Allyson Love and brother Bob Gomes (Diane). Jennifer was predeceased by parents Noel and Elsie Gomes, and numerous in-laws (Chuck Love).
Jennifer’s greatest treasure was her family and the tremendous amount of love shared by her husband, children, and grandchildren. A huge thank you for everyone’s prayers, love and support.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
A special quote from Jennifer’s book “The Jumping Fish” and a scripture she often shared.
“God created everyone and everything for a time on earth. Our time here is a gift to be appreciated. We bring life to others when we are filled with joy, hope, dancing and laughter.”
John 10:14. “I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me.”
