“Visionary or Kook?”
At 7pm on October 25th, 2022 Jeff Leak, husband to Anne Marie, father to Sam (Dan) and Christine, brother to Brian and Jackie (Bill) Dekker, uncle to many, and Druncle to many more ripped off his oxygen, got on his Harley, and drove on through into the sunlight. Once there, he cracked a beer and lit a smoke. No more chemo, no more radiation, no more surgeries, no more CT scans, no more MRIs, and said, “fxxk you cancer.”
He was predeceased by his mother Winnifred, father Clifford, and sister Bonnie.
Jeff was born in Hamilton ON, where he grew up playing his favourite sport, “cops, run!” He travelled all over the world and just recently returned from his bucket list trip to Tuktoyaktuk. Jeff was an avid animal lover, he loved creatures of all shapes and sizes and frequently welcomed animals big and small into his home and yard. He is missed by his two favourite dogs, Sally the hound and Tilly from the High River Cancer Clinic.
Jeff’s family would like to thank the staff of the High River Hospital Cancer Clinic, and the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic, Dr. Powell, Dr. Vyse, High River Hospital ER, lab, CT/X-Ray, HR Hospital Unit 300 Staff, Nurse Manager Jeff Cowling, rural Home Care, rural Palliative team, Nadene Johnson (RN), Lisa (RN), Dr. Rebus, SHC ER, EMS, and all those involved in Jeff’s care.
In memory of Jeff, please consider a donation to the High River Cancer Clinic c/o the High River District Health Care Foundation www.highriverhealthfoundation.ca/donate (560-9th Ave S.W., High River, Alberta T1V 1B3).

“So it’s time for me to go now;
I’m happy about it, don’t be sad,
Because going doesn’t mean all gone,
We’ll meet again one day.”
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jeffrey Clifford Leak 2022..
