Obituary
Peacefully on September 1, 2022 at Middle Terrace, Delaware, Jean Van Nuland of Wallacetown in her 96th year; born in Dinther, NBr, The Netherlands on June 20, 1927. She and husband Joe immigrated to Canada as newlyweds in 1953 and made Iona/Wallacetown their home. They worked hard, raised their family, embraced their community and church and volunteered in many service groups. Jean was a lifelong member of St. Helen’s CWL and an avid quilter and gardener. Jean is survived by her children Joanne (Neil) Bobier, Dianne McFadden, Ed (Dianne) Van Nuland and Mary Bowering (Paul Overholt). Grandma to Bruce Bobier (Alana King), Jeremy (Tanya) McFadden, Sonya Van Nuland, Layne Van Nuland (Alex Shute), Jessica Bowering and Laura Bowering (Cody Krasnaj). Great Grandma to Xander McFadden, Pierce and Addison Emrich and Alasdair Bobier. Predeceased by her husband, Joe (2019), Granddaughters Colleen (Bobier) Emrich (2016), Nancy McFadden (2012), and son-in-law Ed McFadden (2021). Relatives and friends will be received at Arn Funeral Home, 193 Shackleton Street, Dutton, Ontario[519-762-2416] on Monday September 5th, from 2-4 p.m. followed by prayers with St. Helen’s CWL. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 6th at 11:00 am at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 29533 Talbot Line, Wallacetown with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the West Elgin Daffodil Society or the charity of your choice.
