It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jean Ellen Miskiman (nee McCubbing) on July 22, 2022 in Armstrong, B.C.
Jean was born on May 12, 1949 in Unity Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter of Bob and Betty McCubbing. She married Don Miskiman on June 22, 1968. Jean and Don moved around to various cities in Western Canada before settling in Revelstoke, B.C. in 1976 where they remained until retirement. They then moved to Armstrong, B.C. where they became active members of the community in 2004. Jean thoroughly enjoyed her time volunteering at the Bargain Bin, the Zion United Church and before COVID, the Armstrong Fair and the manor. Jean made some incredible friends during her time in both Armstrong and Revelstoke and the family wants to thank every one of them that provided support to Jean.
Jean’s favourite times were spent with her four grandchildren and the travelling she did with some of her family and friends.
Jean was predeceased by her spouse, Don, parents, Bob and Betty, sister Dorothy, brother George and in-laws Tom and Noreen.
She is survived by her two sons, Rob (Kerri) of Revelstoke, B.C. and Greg (Chrysta) of Calgary, Alberta; her two grandsons, Derek (Melissa) of Edmonton, Alberta and Donovan of Revelstoke; her two granddaughters, Paige of Calgary, Alberta and Megan of Yellowknife, NWT; her sister Margie (Jim) Cregan of Edmonton, Alberta; sister-in-law Anne McCubbing of Saskatoon, Sask.; sister-in-law Janet (Nick) Braun of Kelowna, B.C. and numerous nieces and nephews she adored.
There will be no formal service at Jean’s request but the family with have a Celebration of Life tea on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Zion United Church (2315 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Armstrong, B.C.). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
