It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of James ‘Jim’ Murray Byers on August 18, 2022. Jim was born in Tatamagouche on November 20, 1950 and was the son of the late Carlton and Emma (Langille) Byers. He is survived by step-daughters, Teresa, Pictou; Maxine, Londonderry; sister, Judy, Truro; step-grandchildren, Stacey, Francis, Shelly, Sherry, Amanda, Amy, Jacqueline, Michael, Stephen and Jamie. He also leaves behind his faithful pets, Lucy and Smokey. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his wife Edna, step-son, Lawrence; step-daughter, Donna. Jim retired from Scott Weeks Construction where he enjoyed many years of long hours operating equipment all throughout Nova Scotia. A public graveside service will be held in West Branch Cemetery Tuesday at 2 PM. No flowers by request of the family. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital for their care as well as Dr. Gregor MacLean, Dr. Matthew Rigby and Janice Cooper S-LP. A special thank you to the VON’s and Glen Haven Manor for their care are support. Donation in Jim’s memory may be made to West Branch Cemetery or the SPCA.
