PROUT, James William “Jim” –
Peacefully entered into rest at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Picton on Saturday, January 15, 2022, Jim Prout of Picton died at the age of 90. He was the son of the late James & Addie Prout (nee Huff) and was the beloved husband for 68 years to Jenny (nee Jones). Jim was the loving father of Pat Guernsey (Paul) of Picton and the late Bobby. He was the dearest Gramps of Rachel Conley (Ken), Jennifer Ormond (Brett), Randy Guernsey (Michelle), Megan Guernsey, Joshua Guernsey (Kaylin), and Melissa Seay (Sam) and the great grandpa of Nolan, Abbie, Grace, Charlotte, Griffin, Savanna, Payden, Alayna, Ethan, Lena, Miles, Avery, Shannon and Aiden. Jim is survived by his brothers George (late Marilyn) of Winnipeg, Terry (Sharon) of Lombardy, Bob (Shirley) of Elliott Lake and his sister Donna McCracken (Floyd) of Belleville and his sister-in-law Deb Prout of Gananoque. He is predeceased by his brothers Gerald (Anne), Gordie and his sisters Mary Cook (late Bill) and Margaret Cassidy (late Mike). Jim will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Prout is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street West, Picton (613-476-2450). A Memorial Service will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2 Corey Street, Bloomfield on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 1 pm with visitation for 1 hour prior to the service. Inurnment at Cherry Valley Cemetery in the spring. If desired, donations to Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation “Back the Build” (pecmhf.ca/) or the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca/en/) would be appreciated by the family.
