James Perry Wedsworth
1941-2021
It is with great sadness the family of James
Perry Wedsworth, age 80, of Coldbrook, announce his passing on Friday,
December 31, 2021. Born in Thorold, ON, he was a son of the late James
and Ida (Richardson) Wedsworth.
Prior to
retirement, James worked as a service technician for Ball Corp.,
servicing machines all across Canada. For a brief time in Big Harbour,
he was the owner and operator of a Welding and Fabricating Shop. He
served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1959 until 1964 and was a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion Kentville Branch No.6. He was a
life member of the Masonic Hope Lodge 114AF&AM, Port Hope, ON.
Some of his past hobbies included beekeeping and making a canoe, most
of all he enjoyed spending time with his
family.
James is
survived by his wife, Barbara (MacLeod); daughters, Laura (Daniel)
Corkum and Barb Connell; daughter-in-law, Maria Wedsworth-Lovett;
brother, Joseph (Annie) Wedsworth; sisters, Kae Gordon, Anne Webster,
Lynda Tenter and Connie Drake; brother-in-law, Eldon Graham;
grandchildren, Richard, Joseph, Michael and Elizabeth
“Lizzie” Wedsworth, John Lindsay, Adam and Olivia Corkum and
Ashley and Jason Connell; as well as two
great-grandsons.
In addition
to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John Wedsworth; and
sisters, Ida Graham and Alberta Hassim.
Cremation
has taken place. Due to Covid restrictions a private family service
will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in Kings Presbyterian Church,
New Minas, Pastor Calvin Burt officiating. Interment will take place
in Cape Breton at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the
Annapolis Valley Palliative Care Program, Victorian Order of Nurses
– Annapolis Valley, Royal Canadian Legion Kentville Branch
No.6 or Kings Presbyterian Church, New Minas. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
