James’ Obituary
Passed away at Brampton Civic Hospital, Brampton, on Saturday, January 1, 2022. James “Jim” Winston Parker of Brampton and Markdale in his 80th year.
Beloved husband of Mary Lorraine Parker (nee Miller). Dear father of Lorraine Elizabeth Rowland (Jonathan Harold) of Newmarket. Cherished grandfather of Liam Harold Rowland and Mallory Elizabeth Amelia Rowland. Remembered by sisters-in-law, Gail Nancy Murphy, June Grace Evelyn Metcalfe and cousin, Garnet Goodwill. Predeceased by cousin Bonna Rouse.
Jim grew up in Toronto and remained life-long friends with many of his high school classmates. He worked to become a licensed mechanic, machinist and high school teacher. He was a lover of music and a dabbler of art. He was a consummate wordsmith in both spoken and written English and an ardent member of the Brampton Writer’s Guild. After retirement, he supported veterans by volunteering at the Lorne Scots Regimental Museum in Brampton.
A private funeral service will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, on Thursday, January 6, 2022, followed by interment in Markdale Cemetery.
