Obituary of James “Jim” Russell Gordon
Passed away from his battle with cancer, at E.J. McQuigge Lodge, on Monday, January 31st, 2022 in his 80th, year with Stephanie Matthews at his side. Beloved Husband of Mary Susanne Gordon for 58 years. Lovingly remembered by his children Debbie Matthews and Jeff Gordon. Loving grandfather to Jason (Stephanie) Matthews, Steven Matthews, Jaxon Gordon, and Justin Shaw. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Grace Gordon and by his brother Keith Gordon. Dear brother to Alma (late Ken) Byrd, Loreen Elsner (George), June (late Mike) Drumm, and Doris (Ray) Larry. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jim was known for his many years at Gordon Locksmiths. He volunteered as a coach and equipment manager for many years with Belleville Minor Baseball and Hockey. A special thank-you to the Doctor’s in Kingston, Dr. Hamilton, and the staff at McQuigge Lodge for their excellent care of Jim (nickname-TROUBLE) and to the Steele Funeral Home for their help at this time. Due to Jim’s wishes, a private family viewing followed by cremation has taken place. Private inurnment of his ashes will be held in Peterborough in the springtime. If desired, donations to Kingston Health Sciences Centre (Cancer Clinic), uhkf.ca would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, Belleville (613-968-2273)
