James Jimmy Douglas Steeves Jr 19572022 avis de deces

James “Jimmy” Douglas Steeves Jr.
1957-2022
Jimmy Steeves, 64, of Hillsborough, passed away suddenly on
January 22,2022 at his residence after a struggle with
heart issues.
He was born in Moncton on May 22, 1957 the son of the late
James Douglas Steeves Sr. and Doreen (Rossiter) Steeves of
Hillsborough.
Jimmy grew up in Alma and was always on the golf course, he
enjoyed hunting and playing darts with his buddies in
his younger years. He played on
the men’s softball league for Kelly’s Bake Shop back in the day and
was always up for some fun. He met the
love of his life and best friend, Geraldine at the Alma Take-Out and
they have been married for 44 years.
They moved to Hillsborough and started their family and had
two daughters. Jimmy was a hard worker who has worked for
SYSCO as a warehouse receiver for the past 40
years. His family was his everything, he was a devoted
husband, father and grandfather. He loved to tease and
torment his grandchildren, they were his pride and
joy. They made him feel young again and enjoyed all the time
he spent with them. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan which
led to friendly banter with his brother who was an avid
Montreal Canadian fan.
He was a member of the Hillsborough Golf Club and could be
found on the course whenever he got the chance, this was his happy
place. When the tournaments came around Jimmy was
a real asset and everyone was glad to have him on
their team. He golfed regularly with his
golf buddies, Jason Pugh, Jeff Woodworth, Lynn Upham and Earl
Rossiter. “Success in golf depends less on
strength of body, more on strength of mind and
character.”
Jimmy was known for his great sense of humor and that big
grin from ear to ear. We have to live the way
Jimmy would want us to and remember all the good times we got to share
with him, even though it was not long enough. He was one of
the good guys and will be fondly remembered by all who knew
him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Geraldine; his
daughters, Stephanie Prosser (Rodney) of Riverview and Sonya Ford
(Lucas) of Lutes Mountain; his cherished grandkids, Hannah, Dylan,
Dawson, Dakota, Caleb and Jayden; his mother, Doreen Steeves of Fundy
Royal Manor; his brother, Paul Steeves (Nancy) of Hillsborough and his
special uncle, Eric Rossiter (Marla) of Alma who was like a brother to
him. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews,
cousins and all his in-laws, extended family and many
friends.
He was predeceased by his father, James Douglas Steeves
Sr.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at
the time. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later
date when we can all get together and reminisce about all the good
times shared with Jimmy.
The family would like to thank the Ambulance staff,
Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Department and the RCMP officers that
responded to the call, you were amazing. A special
thanks to Teresa O’Hara for all your help, even though you
were not on call you came to help and you were a great comfort to us,
you are always there for your community and it does not go unnoticed
you are definitely a special person. All the support we
received at this time and the way everyone went above and
beyond to help will never be forgotten.
Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or
charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB E4H-3K2
