Obituary
On Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, Jim passed away at the age of 76 years. Beloved wife of Lynda (nee Ollman) for 53 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Tom and Helen, and Tim and Jessica. Dear grandfather (Papa Smurf) of Fiona and Derek Hisson, Hannah, Michael, Emma and great-grandfather to Brooklyn †, Aubrey, Aveline, and Sullivan. Jim is predeceased by his sister Betty and survived by her husband Laverne Gaddye.
Jim retired from a career in the refractory industry where he was a business owner and Refractory manager. In earlier years he played professional football in the CJFL and the CFL in Hamilton, Winnipeg and B.C. Cremation has taken place.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown and on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Family Centre from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. A private Interment Service will take place at a later date. Donations to Salvation Army or CAP Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
