James Hilferty Friday December 9th 2022

HILFERTY, James (Jim) –
Jim passed away peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital, Friday, December 9, 2022, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his wife Mary (May), son Ian, daughter Eileen, daughter Carol Ann, and son Patrick. Forever, fondly remembered by his grandson Malcolm, granddaughters Shannon and Siobhan, family friend Sue Billing, as well as extended family members. Jim was a proud member of The Masons, the Legion and the Celtic club, where he often took in his beloved Celtic football club games. He enjoyed music and dancing, regardless of the venue, he and his wife May owned the dance floor. Jim enjoyed golf and volunteered for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. He joined the merchant navy when he was 17 years of age, he had regaled us over the decades with his fond memories and stories of travel and being at sea. Jim eventually moved from Scotland to Canada with May and Ian, where he settled in, working as a millwright and the family grew, with the addition of Eileen, Pat and Carol Ann. He lived in the same house in Rexdale for fifty years, he has now moved on…….In our hearts he will always be. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
