James Andrew Bartley
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Andrew Bartley. Jimmy passed away at the age of 59, on March 5, 2022.
Jimmy is survived by his children Brandi (Kenneth), James (Richelle) and John (Ariana); grandchildren Ainslee, Coralee and Elias; sister Kim (Derek); nephews Jordan, Stratton and Mason. Jimmy was predeceased by his father James; mother Velma and brother Darryl.
Jimmy grew up in Lockport, Manitoba, but most of his fond memories were made at the family cabin and trapline in the Whiteshell. This is where you could find Jimmy and Darryl hunting, trapping or fishing, and often they were up to something mischievous or destructive. Anyone who ever knew Jimmy probably has some kind of story to tell that is most likely quite interesting and entertaining. Jimmy excelled at hunting and trapping in his younger years. He would often walk for miles with a heavy pack on his back, harvesting beaver and other fur bearers during trapping season. In the fall, there was no shortage of deer, moose or waterfowl on the table.
Jimmy had a deep love for his family and they were always in his heart. Jimmy was an excellent teacher and his children, brother and sister learned so many important outdoor skills from him.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place in the spring.
