Mrs. Jacoba “Coby” Bakker, age 89 years, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
Coby was born May 6, 1933 in Friesland, Holland. She came to Canada in 1956 as a young woman with the man who would be her husband to make a new life together. She enjoyed handicrafts like embroidery, petit point, & rug hooking. She also enjoyed watching The CNN and keeping up with Europe’s royal families.
Survived by her children, Theresa (Wayne) Lankinen, John, Ray (Cristina) and Renee (Daniel) Hadley; grandchildren, Crystal (Ty) Alderdice, Derek (Stephanie) Lankinen, Eric and Emily Bakker, Reagan Fiddler and Peyton Hadley; great grandchildren, Cooper and Griffin Alderdice and Atlas Lankinen as well as numerous extended family.
Predeceased by her husband, Ted (1986).
In keeping with Coby’s wishes, a private graveside service was held in Mountainview Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 Gore Street West at James.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Underground Gym.
