Jack Lenard Weirsma
November 7, 1959 – May 15, 2022
It is will great sadness the family of Jack Weirsma announce his passing on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Jack was born in Vulcan, Alberta to Ann and Simon Weirsma on November 7, 1959. He met and married the love of his life, Trish. Together, they raised two children Tracy and Ben.
Jack was an integral part of the Drayton Valley community; Jack and Trish were the owners of the Drayton Valley Bakery and Café for 18 years. Jack’s love for his family and for his community was witnessed daily.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife Patrica; his two devoted children, daughter Tracy (Robert) and son Benjamin (Ricky); two treasured grandchildren, Rebecca and Bryron; siblings, Rita, Anna and Simon (Ray), as well as by numerous extended family and wonderful friends.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Simon and Ann
.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses, doctors and environmental services staff at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Center, who cared for Jack during his stay.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack’s name to be made directly to the Palliative Care Project through the Drayton Valley Health Foundation, 4550 Madsen Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8.
A private family service will be held to honour “Their Jack”.
