Patterson, John Halifax “Jack” passed away peacefully at home on Thursday January 27, 2022, in his 88th year. Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife Marlene (nee Piitz). He will be remembered as the proud and loving father of Pat (Monika), Tim, Todd (Jan), Tammy and the late Michael. Forever cherished grandfather of Andrew (Jen) Mac, Graeme Patterson, Jenna (Colin) Leal, Katie (Joshua) Harrison, Megan (Jeff) Shepley, Kylie (Adam) Piitz and Naomi Wheatley and 10 great grandchildren. Born in Collingwood to parents Allan and Mabel Patterson, he was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Calvin, Allan, and Dalton “Duke” Patterson, and sisters Bernice Willison, Freda Redick, Beaulah Conn, Vera Pickering, and Audrey Brown. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Jack proudly served the community with the Collingwood Fire Department for 19 ½ years. In his retirement he enjoyed hockey and travelling, going to the cottage, and spending time with his family and friends. A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation or the Saint Vincent de Paul Society in Jack’s memory.
