Jack Allen Krieger April 5 1941 August 3 2022 (age 81)

Obituary
Jack Krieger, beloved husband of Yvonne Krieger (nee Brissette) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022, at the age of 81 years. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Jack managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by family, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Jack was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he met and married his wonderful wife, Yvonne in 1964. He was working at Electrolier Corp. which was his first experience in sales in the commercial lighting industry. In 1973 Jack and Yvonne were transferred to Calgary for the second time. In 1978, having gained more experience in the lighting industry, Jack started his own agency, Jayross Agencies Ltd, which he successfully worked at for 25 years. His amazing work ethic paid off and he enjoyed the business and formed lasting relationships with many of his long-time associates that lasted far after his retirement in 2003.
Jack and Yvonne attended St. Laurence Church for over 50 years and made so many wonderful memories and incredible friends.
In his spare time, Jack golfed, lawn bowled and 5 pin bowled. He enjoyed volunteering at the Food Bank for many years. Trips to Las Vegas or a casino in Calgary, including breakfasts, always got him smiling as well as watching a good Winnipeg Blue Bombers or Toronto Blue Jays game. Ultimately, his favorite time spent was with his family.
An extrovert at heart Jack loved talking with people, he enjoyed the conversations and the company. Likewise, his love of animals was extraordinary, especially with his own animals. Jack was just the kindest individual and would help anyone. In his words “why not be nice”.
Jack was a supportive and loving husband to his wife, Yvonne, as well as an amazing father to their daughters Charlene and Karen. He was so proud of his daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren. He will be truly missed.
Jack is survived by his wife Yvonne; daughter Charlene Tomlinson (Rod) and grandchildren Ryan, Kennedy and Connor; daughter Karen Taylor (Brent) and grandchildren, Olivia and Charlotte; along with many wonderful nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents Christine and Carl Krieger; his sister Arlene (Carlin); and brother George.
A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at St. Laurence Anglican Church (5940 Lakeview Dr SW, Calgary) on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm. The service will be live streamed at this link for friends and family who are unable to attend. Fellowship will be downstairs after the Celebration ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Food Bank or the Calgary Humane Society.

  1. I didn’t get to know Jack as well as I would have likes to, but I am glad that I did get to meet him and have the pleasure of his company bowling with and against him at Mountain View Bowling. Man, he was a good bowler! Always a gentleman, always smiling and always interested in a conversation with you. A fun guy to bowl with and against. Rest in pease, Jack.
