Irwin “Sonny” Jamensky
Passed peacefully in his sleep, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the age of 90. Husband of many years to Bella Jamensky, and loving father of Mark Jamensky, Derek Jamensky and Aviva Jamensky. Cherished grandfather of Joel Jamensky and Kendra Jamensky. He will be dearly missed by his brother Jerry Jamensky, as well as his longtime friend and companion Majolena Bissessar, and many nieces and nephews, friends and relations.
Sonny was all heart, and he opened the hearts of those around him. He leaves us with fond memories, and an optimism for a kinder world and the brotherhood of all people.
A Graveside Service for Irwin will be held at Jewish Memorial Gardens – Osgoode (6549 Herberts Corners Road, Greely, ON) on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 2:00pm. For those unable to attend the service, a livestream will be available here: Foveo Guest Stream
Shiva will be held at Mark’s home, 19 Castlethorpe Crescent, Ottawa, ON from 3:00-9:00pm on August 10, with afternoon service at 5:00pm. Shiva will also be held at 775 Plymouth Avenue, Mount Royal, QC from 2:00-4:00pm on August 11, 2022. Memorial donations to OrKidstra (613-233-0166, orkidstra.ca) are appreciated.
