Irene Ann Gottfried (nee Landy)
September 23, 1926 – February 18, 2022
Irene Gottfried of Gimli MB, in her 96th year, peacefully passed away at Betel Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by her husband John, brother Borden Landy, and son-in-law Thomas Harrop.
She is survived by her children: Lynn (David) Ashton, Teresa Harrop, Tim (Brenda) Gottfried, 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and her sister Amelia Petri.
Irene took great pride in her family, home and gardens. She enjoyed cooking and baking, but quilting was her passion. Irene was involved in the New Horizon Club and donated many of her beautiful quilts, as well as making them for all her family.
She loved to play cards and was very good at cribbage. At 95 our Mom, Nany was always sharp and had a great memory. She will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial Service will be planned for the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gimli Hospital Foundation.
Never to be forgotten, for her constant companionship, help and support, sincere thanks to her niece, Pearl (Maurice) Gill.
