Moncton, NB – It is with deepest sadness that we advise of the passing of William (Willie or Bill) Cormier on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the age of 96 following a brief illness and a broken heart.
He was born in Moncton, NB on February 14, 1926 and was the son of the late Richard and late Ida (LeBlanc) Cormier.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years: Raymonde (Caissie) in January earlier this year.
Dad had worked many years at Swift. Following its’ closure dad went to work at Hub Meat until his retirement. He was a long-time bowler having reached the difficult 400 mark on a couple of occasions. In his retirement, he took up other interests like pool and darts. He was a Montreal Canadiens fan. He and his brother-in-law, Wilfred took several weekend trains trips to see a game and return right back home.
He leaves behind his four daughters who will miss him deeply: Norma Savoie (Roger) of Moncton, Therese Cormier, Claudette Daley (Greg) both of Riverview and Denise Allain of Dieppe; his four grandchildren: Chelsea Jordan (Owen), Sam Savoie (Sharon Ngongo), Stephen Daley (Maddy) and Natasha Daley (Pat Haley) and four great grandchildren: Nova, Ophelia, Levi and Jax; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wilfred Caissie (Imelda), Mary Ann Eagles (Ben) and Laure Liljemark (Nils) all of Dieppe; also by many nephews, nieces and friends.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Laurie and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gonzague and Florentine Caissie.
Visitation will be held at Passage-Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 506.857.1901), on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 1pm to 2:45pm. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3pm.
