Shediac, NB – Thomas Gallant, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on his 79th birthday Monday, June 20, 2022 at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he was the son of the late Emmett and the late Marguerite Gallant (Poirier).
Thomas served in the National Guard for the US Army. He co-owned Chedik Printing and then worked for Midland Courier where he retired. After he retired, he worked as a commissioner in different area and he also did a lot of volunteering in his community. He was a member of Knight of Columbus (4th Degree), Council #2793.
Thomas will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years: Rose (Goguen); his daughters: Rachelle Gallant-Reynolds of Ohio, USA, Donna Bourgeois (Donald) of Shediac and Paulette Gallant (Sylvie Martin) of Grande-Digue; his grandchildren: Tyrone (Jackie), Janelle, Jonathan and Pascale; his brother: John of Shediac, Jacques (Raymonde) of Moncton and Pierre (Elizabeth Savage) of Vernon, BC; his sisters-in-law: Thérèse of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, Angela of Grande-Digue and Edmée of Notre-Dame; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers: Arthur, Frankie, Gérard and Philippe; his sister-in-law: Louise.
Visitation will be held at Passage – 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, (506) 532-1050, on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 9am to 11am and from 1pm to 2:30pm, followed by the funeral service at St-Joseph RC Church in Shediac at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Hospice Moncton (Albert House), to CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) or Vestiaire St-Joseph in Shediac.
