Robert Guérette
1951-2022
Moncton, NB – Robert Guérette, 71, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton, on Friday, September 30th, 2022.
Born in Kedgwick, NB, on August 9th, 1951, he was the son of the late Patrick Guérette and the late Germaine (Normandeau) Guérette.
At a young age, Robert joined the family business in Kedgwick, Guérette & Sons. The company was one of the first to operate in the cable sector in New Brunswick. Guérette & Sons grew over the years and became the main supplier of cable television for many communities in the northern part of the province as well as in Gaspésie. Following the acquisition of the company by Cable 2000, Robert and his better half Micheline, decided to start a business of their own. In 1996, they opened the doors of a Dairy Queen and proudly operated it for 20 years in the beautiful community of Shediac, NB.
Robert was a passionate golfer and played as much as he could with his good friends and of course his best partner, Micheline. He was also a formidable crib player and still holds the Guérette family trophy. Robert will be remembered as a tender and generous man with a lot of charm who was always ready to help others. He loved his family and his grandchildren unconditionally and with endless love.
Robert will be sadly missed by his loving wife: Micheline (Lavallée) Guérette; his son: Jean-Pierre (Jessica) of Shediac; his daughter Isabelle Guérette (Jonathan Walonislow) of Moncton; his four grandchildren: Damien, Emma, Isaac and Alexandre; his four brothers: Gilles (Thérèse LaForge-Guérette) of Moncton, Jean (Sonia Vigneault) of Ottawa, Paul (Lisette) of Shediac and Jacques (Diane) of Campbellton; his two sisters: Suzanne Guérette (James MacGregor) of Morocco and Anne (Armel) Audet of Eel River; one brother-in-law: Manfred Schuhmann of Moncton as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, Robert was predeceased by one sister: Lise Schuhmann.
Visitation will be held at the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (506)-857-1901, on Thursday October 6, 2022, from 12:30 to 2pm. Funeral service will follow at the Passage-Chartersville Chapel at 2pm on the same day.
