Bouctouche, NB (formerly from Grande-Digue) – Henri Allain, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Foyer St-Jean Baptiste in Bouctouche.
Born in Black’s Harbour, NB, he was the son of the late Alphonse Allain and the late Aline Allain (Léger).
Henri has been very involved in community and professional initiatives: Employee of Atlantic Roofers for 25 years, including management of the branch in Winsloe (PEI); Knights of Columbus of Grande-Digue, CNIB (Charlottetown), Construction Association of PEI, Winsloe Lions Club, Founding President of Club du Village (Cocagne), President and member of the Board of Directors of Bi-Centennial Apartments (Grande-Digue), and Chairman of the Construction Committee of the Passage Funeral Cooperative.
Henri will be greatly missed by his five children: Gloria Allain (Jean) of Sherbrooke, QC, Maria DesRoches (Jimmy) of Adamsville, Gilles Allain (Denise) of Fredericton, Roger Allain (Cécile) of Grande-Digue and Jean Allain (Linda) of Grande-Digue; his ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; his brothers: Arthur, Léo, Emery, Léonard, Alyre, all from Cocagne; his sister, Yvonne of Cocagne; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ernestine, and his brother, Rev. Robert Allain.
Visitations will be held at Passage – 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge,(506) 532-1050, on Friday, October 20, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, October 21, 2022 from 10:00 am until time of the funeral service at the Chapel at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to thank the professional and warm care of the Manoir St-Jean Baptiste of Bouctouche and the entire team of the Passage Funeral Cooperative with whom he worked for many years.
In his memory, donations can be made to Lions Club International, Red Cross, Manoir St-Jean Baptiste Foundation, Pépére Boite à Lunch or donor’s choice.
