Guy Bastarache, 81, of Dieppe and formerly of Cocagne, New Brunswick and London, Ontario passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Maison Albert House in Moncton on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
Born in Saint-Antoine, he was the grandson of Maxime and Hélène (Cormier) Bastarache, and the son of Georgine, all of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Marie Diana (Breau) Bastarache, son Daniel of BC, daughter Lynn D’Angelo (Michael) and grandson Holden D’Angelo, all of Ontario. He is also survived by cousins in France, Québec and New England.
Guy will be remembered for his honesty and his high level of integrity. His immediate family will forever be proud of the courage with which Guy manoeuvred through the decade long difficulties of Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Special thanks to Doctors Marcel Mallet and Karine Spence for their decade of care, as well as the Extra Murale staff and the staff at Maison Albert, without whom this journey would have been much more difficult.
In respecting Guy’s wishes, there will be neither service nor visitation and his cremated remains will be interred at the foot of the grave of his beloved grandfather, Maxime. His family will have a private memorial at a later time.
If considering donations, please consider the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, your local food bank, or a charity of your choice.
