Moncton, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colombe (Bourque) Gautreau, of Moncton, NB, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the Moncton Hospital, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Colombe is survived by her children Nadia and Réjean Gautreau, her grandson Nicholas and her two little dogs who adored her: Mya and Bella. She is also survived by two brothers Jean-Claude (late Ginette) and Donald (Annette), two sisters Claudine and Claudette (Harry), a sister-in-law Carole (late Guy), as well as her nieces and nephews: Daniel, Michelle, Marie-Claude, Marie-Josée, Jean-François, Martin and Rémi. She was predeceased by her parents Claude and Stella (Landry) Bourque, her brother Guy and her sister-in-law Ginette.
Colombe was a nurse for many years. She first worked at the hospital in Saint-Quentin, then at the Moncton Hospital, the Addiction Treatment Centre of Moncton and at the Résidence Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Dieppe.
The family would like to thank most sincerely all those who tried and succeeded in making Colombe’s life more comfortable over the past two years: Dr. Annick Lepage and her team at the Dermatology Clinic, the nurses at Clinic C of the Moncton Hospital, the care team at the Oncology Department (Dr. Rachel Blackman and Dr. Maude Landry and all the nurses). Colombe lost her battle with cancer but never lost her sense of humour.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16 at the Chartersville (Passage) Funeral Home in Dieppe. A life ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. at the same location.
