At Lancaster Long Term Care on November 18, 2022, age 96 years. (Feb. 7, 1926 – Nov. 7, 2022) Inge was predeceased by her beloved husband George Baxter, sister Elsa Garaventa, and parents Elsa Knopfe and Robert Hammer. Inge grew up in Wuppertal, Germany. She and her Scottish husband married in 1948 and came to Canada to start their car dealership in Toronto and Montreal. Inge worked at Birks for many years in Montreal learning the jewellery trade. She loved classic bling, was a haute couture sewer, traveled 33 times to Germany to visit family, relished driving her jaguar, delighted in animals-cats, dogs, horses, engaged in volunteering in palliative care after retirement, and happy when socializing with the girls while George played golf! At Inge’s request, no funeral will take place. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772).
