Imogene Aulton West of Strawberry Plains finished a blessed 96-year earthly journey to go to her Heavenly home on October 5, 2022. Imogene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Robert (Bob) West, Jr.; parents, Minnie and Daniel “Hez” Aulton; and eight Aulton brothers and sisters (Fannie Nix, Hazel Williamson, Geneva Dugger, Bill Aulton, Ocie Aulton, Trula Duggan, Helen Cline, and David Aultom). Imogene is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kevin Reilly of Strawberry Plains as well as two cherished grandsons, Sean (Kelsey) Reilly of Maryville and Jake Reilly of Knoxville. Numerous nieces and nephews from the Aulton and West families, Jerry (Cheryl) West, and many friends are also left behind to treasure her memory.
Imogene West lived a life dedicated to her family and her Lord. She was deeply committed to her husband, Bob, and took great delight in his zest for life. Imogene found tremendous joy in her daughter, son-in-law, two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law. Imogene was a skilled homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and that tradition of hospitality has been passed down to her daughter and grandsons. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains where she sang in the choir and was treasurer for decades. For several years, Imogene also sang with a gospel quartet that traveled to numerous churches spreading the gospel through music. She also was a direct descendant of one of the First Families of Tennessee.
Imogene was deeply loved by her family and has left a legacy of Christian service and love.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Bridges Funeral Home with services at 7:00 PM. Officiating are Rev. Tim Tatum and Rev. Ronnie White. Interment at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Arrangements by Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville
