Obituary
With broken hearts, the Leonard family sadly announces the passing of our beloved mother Ida Merry (Fraser) Leonard on April 12, 2022. Mom lived a long and wonderful life, cherishing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born on July 31, 1921, in Inverness, Scotland, she joined the Royal Air Force during WWII. A proud Scottish war bride, Mom raised her family with fearless determination and unconditional love. Sadly, she was predeceased by son Spencer, daughter (Yvonne) Bonnie Avery, and great-granddaughter Lauren.
Left behind to carry out her amazing legacy of love and kindness are her children Gloria (Ed MacLean), Alister (Val Bishop), Reg (Lola), Ronnie, Marion, Denise, Lori, daughter-in-law Peggy Leonard, son-in-law Edgar Avery, and 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mom will also be remembered fondly by a large circle of extended family, friends and comrades.
Special thanks are extended to Doctor John Janes for his extraordinary support over many years.
