It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Hurtubise, on the afternoon of January 4, 2022, at the age of 74, following a yearlong courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife of 48 years, and his three daughters.
He will be missed tremendously by his wife, Mimi, daughters Sophy (Mike), Emily (Amir), and Tanya (Amine), as well as his precious grandchildren Parker, Karmela, Austin, and Estella, all of whom he loved dearly. He was adored by his mother-in-law Nanny (Suzanne Conquest). He will also be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Stan (Susan), his nephews and nieces Pamela (Phil), Julie (Stephane), Kevin (Aiyana), Ellie, and Anna.
Son of the late Florence and William Hurtubise, he was born on February 28, 1947, in Montreal. He was a Master Electrician and worked at the City of Pointe-Claire as the Electrical Foreman for 35 years. He loved curling and was an avid traveller and cruiser. Ron took pride in his home, was the best sous-chef, an all-time football fan, and was impassioned with the history of WW1, WW2, and war aircraft. He was a well-loved Kirkland resident and well respected in the community. He was the president of Beaconsfield Heights Community Swimming Pool for many years, where he loved to take a dip on a hot summer day.
Ron was a true follower of the Lord and demonstrated so by his example of kindness, honesty, humbleness, and integrity with everyone he met and knew. We take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord.
Ron was known as Dear, Daddy, and Pappy. He was an amazingly loving husband and father, he cared for his family with all of his heart. Ron was passionate about life and always maintained a positive outlook no matter what the circumstance. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. We will cherish his beautiful smile, laugh, and energy. His memory will live in us forever.
On behalf of the family, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the exceptional care we received from the Department of Oncology at the Jewish General Hospital, especially Drs. Kavan, Vanounou, Farzan, pivot nurse Stephanie, the West Island Palliative Care Team, and the NOVA West Island Team. A special thank you to Carol, Leslie, and Dr. Wong.
Due to current circumstances, there will be no service or visitation at this time. Family and friends are invited to Ron’s celebration of life, tentatively planned for the spring of 2022. When available, event details will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to NOVA West Island, Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, or the Department of Oncology at the Jewish General Hospital, would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Voluntas (voluntas.ca).

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of HURTUBISE Ronald W
