Obituary
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, on Monday, August 15, 2022, at his home in Point La Haye, St. Mary’s Bay, Hughie Bishop, aged 68 years.
Predeceased by his parents James & Veronica Bishop, infant brother Gerard and brother Don and special friends Marg Snook and Eileen Bowen.
Leaving to mourn his brothers Doug (Eileen), James (Geraldine), Gerard (Lorraine), sisters Veronica (Bill) Breen, Eleanor (Calvin) Kielly, sister-in-law Marion Bishop, aunt Theresa Bishop, as well as many nieces, nephews and their families; extended family members including Vicki Snook and Nicole Inkpen; and his many friends, especially his “Good Neighbor” Derek Bishop and his fury friend Lucy.
We would like to thank Dr. Holmes, Dr. Siddiqui and the Cancer Team at the Health Science Centre and also the staff at 4 North A – HSC for the care and compassion shown to Hughie and our family.
We also express our sincere gratitude to Todd Squires and staff at St. Mary’s Pharmacy, the staff of St. Mary’s Health Centre and to Gibbons’ Ambulance and Funeral Service for their professional service.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary’s, at a time to be announced. Donations in his memory may be made to the Gathering Place or to a charity of one’s choice.
