Obituary
Passed unexpectedly on Thursday, October 20th, 2022 “Howard Patrick Maloney” originally of Bay Bulls, age 69 years. Retired from Canadian Coast Guard as Chief Engineer. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Alex Maloney, sisters: Rita Shivers, Veronica Hearn and Carmel Dooley.
Howard leaves to mourn his loving sons; Jamie Maloney (Tina), Sandy Maloney (Tracy) and Stepdaughter Samantha Johnson-Doyle (Mitch). His pride and joy, his grandchildren; Demitri, Declan, Cassidy, Maddie, Alex, Beckam and Jamieson. They were the light of his life. Howard is also survived by his sister Bernadette Maloney, nieces; Michelle Dooley-Kirby (Chris), Donna, Debbie, Rowena. Nephews; Barry (Ruth), Glenn (Krista), Ross (Heather), Desi (Pena) and Ken (Mary-Park). Lifelong friend, Gerald Carew from Bay Bulls, as well as the owners and staff of West Side Charlies (Mount Pearl), who became closer to being like an adopted family, especially over the pandemic.
Because of Howard’s easy-going nature and generous heart, it enabled him to make friends easily, in all walks of life.
His interests were: golf, the love of the outdoors, good food, always an avid reader and he was a captivating storyteller, which normally made him the life of the party.
As per Howard’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at West Side Charlies, 60 Merchant Drive, Mount Pearl on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
