Hosek Pavel “Paul 2022

Pavel “Paul” Hosek, 83, passed away peacefully at home, in the company of loved ones, on September 30, 2022. He was the loving husband of Marie Hosek. They shared 58 years of marriage together.
Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, he was the son of Karel and Pavla Hosek. There he served in the armed
forces. In 1968, he and his wife and young daughter, fleeing Soviet occupation, emigrated to Canada. He
was self-employed as a tool and die maker thereafter.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, cross-country skiing and canoeing. He enjoyed road trips to a variety of
destinations across North America. He loved building and flying radio-controlled aircraft and shared his
passion with his grandchildren. An avid reader and history buff, he spent countless hours absorbed in a
book beside his fireplace. He was a friend to all dogs. Most of all, he loved his children and
grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Marie, his daughter Monika Patterson and her spouse Barry Patterson, and
their sons Zachary (Cindy) and Eric (Alyssa). He is also survived by his son Paul Hosek and his partner
Natalia Antunes, and their children Isaac and Sophia. He was predeceased by his brother Petr.
The memorial will be held later in October, at St John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium, 737 Dundas St
East, Mississauga, Ontario, L4Y 2B5.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at
support.cancer.ca.
