Hilyard Garfield Rossiter 19432022 avis de deces

Hilyard Garfield Rossiter
1943-2022
Hilyard
Rossiter, 79, of Alma, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1st,
2022.
Hilyard was born in Hastings on April 28th, 1943, the son
of the late Gordon and Irene (Bernier) Rossiter.
Hilyard worked for Transport Canada
for over 35 years, he worked in Saint John,
Newfoundland and last in Moncton before his
retirement. After his retirement he moved back to the
Village of Alma where he loved. He became a dedicated member
of the community, he was on the Recreation Council,
Village Council and also served as Mayor of Alma for a time.
He was actively involved with the Fundy Trail and was on the
Moncton Town Planning Commission.
Hilyard and his wife, Vivian, had an open door policy and
loved to entertain their family and friends. Many nights
were spent around the kitchen table with guitars singing tunes, most
often their own version being sung. He and his
friends loved spending time at his camp and he had many fond memories
with all his buddies. Being outdoors in nature
was his happy place, he was an avid hunter and
enjoyed fishing. He had a great sense of humour and always
wanted to have fun, He had many stories to tell and
was known to be an instigator at times. He
would want everyone to have a laugh as you remember all the
good times.
It is hard for those who are left behind but we have to
remember Hilyard was blessed as he always said he wanted to go
peacefully in his sleep. He is now reunited with all his
family who have gone before him. “Whoever
you hold in the heart of you, is forever and always a part of
you.”
He will be deeply missed by his children, Peter Rossiter
and David Rossiter (Linda), both of Alma, Darren Rossiter of BC,
Patricia Rossiter of Moncton, and Vernon Rossiter (Rhonda) of
Alma; step-children Troy Milton (Julie) of Saint John, Jeff
Milton (Tammy) of Riverview and Tanya Melanson (Andrew) of Riverview;
by his treasured 18 grandchildren and his precious great

Rossiter (Ruth) of Salem, John Rossiter (Bettyanne) of Riverview,
Milburn Rossiter (Brenda) of South Branch, Roy Rossiter of
Moncton, Earl Rossiter (Monica) of Riverside-Albert and Eric Rossiter
(Marla) of Alma; brother-in-law, Terry Way of Alma; sisters-in-law,
Gwen Crossman of Riverview, Gail Woodworth (Donald) of Riverview and
