Hayden, Herbert Linsey
Knodell- Age 80, Steep Creek, Guysborough Co.
Passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Steep Creek, he was a son of
the late Percival and Laura (Kinney) Hayden.
Herbert travelled from North Sydney to B.C. He worked in the
coal mines of Glace Bay, and then as he travelled he worked
bartending, janitor at a hospital, carpentry and lumber jacking B.C.
He loved woodworking and made a lot of crafts. Herbert loved company
and looked forward to all the family reunions on the
hill.
He is survived by his son, Troy, Ontario; sister, Sally
(David) Forbes, Fall River; and a granddaughter. He was predeceased by
his brothers, Owen, Merrill, Courtney, Ralph and Billy in infancy;
sisters, Vera, Georgina (Jackie), Betty and infant sister,
Irene.
There will be no visitation and a graveside
service will be held at a later date as per his
request.
Donations in memory of Herbert may be made to the Canadian
Liver Foundation, Halifax Chapter; Canadian Cancer Society or
Palliative Care, Antigonish.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of
Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may
