It is with great sadness that our father, grandpa, great grandpa, the backbone of our family, Herb Adduono passed away on October 7th, 2022 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. Born in Fort William on March 22nd, 1933, Herb peacefully passed surrounded by his family while patiently waiting for his favorite team, the Blue Jays, to start their first playoff game. He married September 6th, 1952, to Joyce Fredrickson, who predeceased him March 18th, 2017. Herb faithfully visited his wife every day at her gravesite no matter the conditions, until his own health issues prevented him from doing so.
Herb was an 89-year resident of Thunder Bay. Of his many accomplishments, he was one of the city’s top bowlers in the 60s and 70s, where he bowled a perfect 450 game, and took part in the Mens Western Canadian Bowling Championship team.
He played Sr. fastball in the top Thunder Bay Men’s league and was an all-star right fielder, along with being a timely home-run hitter. During his midlife years his joy was refereeing minor hockey, then his enthusiasm led him to become a trainer for junior hockey.
Herb was not only a sports legend, but his proudest moments were watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play and perform in their favorite activities. He was well known around town for his generosity and always having a pocket full of hard candies to hand out.
In his career, he was a sheet metal journeyman who never stopped working, even into his late 80s. His hard work and passion led him to start Addouno’s Heating in 1983, where he never hesitated to sell a furnace, air conditioner, or fireplace anywhere or anytime. He also worked tirelessly managing the bowling alley in the evenings to provide for his family. He was a member of the sheet metal union local 397, the Elks club lodge 82, St. Agnes Church, Lakehead 5 Pin Bowling Association, Sr. Fastball Executive and much more.
In his later years, Herb always looked forward to Friday night dinners with his family. As time went on and he became ill, his condo became the new meeting place where he would have visitors all day long. Our dad loved his family and did everything he could to show it. He was so proud of his 6 children and he was a superhero to all of them. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught us all to enjoy every moment life has to offer. He loved spending time with each and every one of us. Herb can rest in peace knowing his legacy will be carried on by his family.
Herb is survived by his 5 children (Jerry + Brenda) (Rick + Melanie) (Debbie Milani) (Patti + Bill Exell) (Kenny + Rhonda).

Grandchildren: (Jeremy + Kaitlin) (Jill + Mark) (Kristan + Wayne) (Jayme + Brooke) (Jeff + Amanda) (Josh) (Jordan + Kayla) (Tommy +Jessica) (Jake) (Max) (Paige) (Billy) (Austin) (Keanu + Olivia).
Great grandchildren: (Hazel, Henley, Duke) (Cohen, Pacey, Emmett, Chandon) (Cameron, Elizabeth, Rikki-Jane) (Harley, Hope, Jace, Kohl, Kehl, Layla, Nixon).
Predeceased by his loving wife (Joyce), his son (Peter), his son in-law (Tom Milani), his parents (Jerry + Helen), his brother (Sonny), sister in-law (Joan), and in-laws (Christopher + Eva Fredrickson) and his beloved dog, Tiger.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24th at 11am, at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Jerin Louis. The service will be livestreamed at the St. Agnes Parish facebook page, www.facebook.com/stagnesrc. Followed by a celebration of life luncheon at Da Vinci Center. If friends desire to make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada it would be greatly appreciated.
