Henry’s Obituary
Maxwell, Henry David – It is with deep sorrow that the family of Henry David Maxwell announces his passing on January 19, 2022. David is the oldest child of the late David and Martha (Greenwood) Maxwell, born in Sydney Mines, May 19, 1949. David was a jack of all trades. His working career took him from retail to building. He worked on two homes restorations asking his friend Reg Rose to set up his machines to replicate baseboards or assist with building cupboards. His buddy Bert MacDonald would come down to visit if he had a project to keep Bert busy. Of course there were always projects. David was looking forward to spending time in his new barn building and puttering. He was getting the second level ready for a man cave. David loved to read, reading anything from cereal boxes to thick novels. David leaves to mourn his wife and best friend of 48 ½ years, Brenda, daughter Beth, son James. Poppy will be missed by grandchildren David, Emma and Betsy. David leaves his siblings Kevin (Paula), Natalie (Alfred), Ron (Shelley), and Clayton, brother in laws David, Bill and Bob, several cousins, nieces and nephews mourning his passing. David was preceded by his parents David and Martha (Greenwood) Maxwell, in laws Munro and Betty Barron, brother-in-law Douglas Barron. The family wishes to thank the County EMT’s and Barrington Port LaTour Fire Department for their assistance. Also a thank you to the staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital Emergency Department and the extra special staff on 3rd ICU. You all gave us extra time with David. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. In keeping with David’s wishes Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, from 2-4 pm at the H.M. Huskilsons Funeral Home, Barrington. In keeping with provincial Covid 19 guidelines, proof of double vaccination is required. The wearing of masks and social distancing guidelines must be observed. A family service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Barrington Port La Tour Fire Department or any charity of choice.
