Obituary for Helen Havlik
Helen Havlik (nee Rosati), of Petrolia, died in her 92nd year at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on Monday, February 28, 2022. Helen was predeceased by her husband Frank and her son Tom. She will be missed by her daughter Pat Havlik and her brother Gabe Rosati. She was predeceased by her parents Anna and Rosairo Rosatti, and siblings Dan, Toni, and Susie and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Amherstburg, Helen trained as a nurse at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Windsor, and spent many years as C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia retiring as Director of Nursing. In her retirement Helen volunteerd with Lambton County Developmental Services. Helen was an advocate for rural hospitals, volunteering with Trillium Health partners and Sarnia Lambton Health Coalition, receiving an Ontario Governor General’s award for efforts. She served on the council of the Town of Petrolia from 2006 to 2014.
Visitors will be received on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. Masking is mandatory in the funeral home. Interment will occur at a later date in Kingsville Memorial Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made C.E.E. Hospital Foundation (www.ceefh.ca) or Alzheimer’s Society (www. alzheimer.ca).
