HALLAWELL, Hazel Jean Mary –
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on February 9, 2022 in her 98th year. Hazel was born on June 9, 1924 in Horsham, England. She served in the British Army’s Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II and immigrated to Canada in 1958. She was an avid animal lover, a talented artist, voracious reader and enjoyed staying active. Proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary. Hazel is survived by her sisters-in-law Judith and Bunty, her nephew Craig and his family and her niece Kathryn. She will be dearly missed by Doreen and Anna as well as her friends at Extendicare. Her family and friends would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Extendicare Oshawa, especially the staff of the 3rd floor and Activities Staff. A Private Service will be held followed by interment at Groveside Cemetery, Whitby. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Durham Region Humane Society and condolences may be expressed online at wctownfuneralchapel.com.
