Gordon William Oughtred 1940 2022

Oughtred, Gordon William – Passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at 82 years of age. Beloved husband of Elfgard (Elfi) for 30 years. Loving father of Diana (Charles), Karen (Ward), John (Nancy) and Warren (Mila). Cherished grandfather of Stefanie, Danielle, Katrina, Ginger Steve, Curtis, Cody, Wade and Colton and his beautiful great grandchildren Brigg, Birkley, Blake, Carly, Piper, Landon and Kai. Gordon was the 5th generation farmer of the family farm Sunny Terrace Farms and also operated the dealership Caledonia Tractor in the late 70’s and 80’s. His lifelong love of Allis Chalmers tractors continued on in his retirement restoring them with his sons. You could always find him in his workshop or driving around the community holding up traffic in his little white Smart car. Gordon was one of the best tractor pullers in Canada, winning the United States National Points Championship in 1973. He will be fondly missed by all who knew him. At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. A private service will be taking place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson St. Brantford, 519-752-2543. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
