Gordon Wilfred Wagg
June 30, 1924 – May 30, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Gordon Wilfred Wagg announce his passing on May 30, 2022, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Gordon was born on June 30, 1924, in Step-A-Side, Newfoundland. Son of Joseph Wilfred Wagg and Melinda Gertrude Foote. Gordon’s family was one of the founding families of Midland (Pasadena). Gordon was active in his community, serving on the school board, the board of the Humber Valley United Church, and was a charter member of the Pasadena Lions Club. He was made a lifetime member after serving 50 years.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children Derrick (Bonnie), Ron (Sally), Beatrice (Roger), Clarence (Ivy), and Eileen (Ray). Also left to mourn are his 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Ann Marie Wagg; sister-in-law Joan Pitcher; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife, Gladys; sons Wallace and James (Jim); granddaughter Lisa; parents Joseph and Melinda; sister Edna (Eric); brothers Howard (Lovenia), Ron, and Robert; Parents-in- law Benjamin and Jessie Hodder; sister-in-law Ella Hodder; and brothers-in-law Benjamin (Lisa) Hodder and Harry Pitcher.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Deer Lake Manor for their care of Gordon for the last 6 years and would also like to thank the hospital staff for their kindness and care during his stay there.
A visitation will take place at the Humber Valley United Church, Pasadena on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place from the church on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Pasadena United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humber Valley United Church in Pasadena.
