Gordon William Bain passed away surrounded by family, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Saturday, October 1st, 2022. Age 93 years.
Beloved husband and lifelong companion of Elizabeth Viola ‘Vi’ Bain (Conard) for 73 adventurous years. Loving father of Tricia Bain (Mike Stoneman), Doug Bain, and the late David William Bain. Cherished grandpa of Shawna Lipton, Rose Lipton, Michael David Bain (Nikita Bain), and the late Jenny Bain. Predeceased by parents William and Freida Bain, and by stepmother Marion Bain. Dear brother of Isabel ‘Issy’ Mardlin (late Lloyd), and the late Edith Mardlin (late Gordon).
Fondly remembered for his kindness, dapper style, intellect, love of family, poetry, writing, and dreaming by his nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington Street South, St. Marys (519-284-2820), on Wednesday, October 5th at 2:00 P.M. Friends and family will be received prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Reception to follow at St. Marys United Church.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre (Palliative Care) would be appreciated.
