Obituary
RODGERS, Glen Murray … passed away in his sleep at his home in Tweed on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 at the age of 70 years. Devoted husband of Elaine, married 46 glorious years to his beloved wife. Glen will always be cherished by his children Shannon (John) Martin, Angela (Andrew) Rodgers, Tracey Rodgers and Derek Rodgers. Loving grandfather of Jayden and Tyson. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Debbie (Jerry) Jowett, Wendy Mahoney and brother Brian Rodgers. Glen will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Devoted son to the late Mel and Phyllis Rodgers. Glen worked with Ontario Hydro for 28 years and was able to take an early retirement in May of 2000. His greatest joy was his two grandsons. He loved being in the woods cutting down trees and then come home to work at his sawmill. In the last few years, he was able to enjoy his passion for riding motorcycles. He would be out at the sawmill working until around midday, would come in and say to Elaine, “Let’s go for a ride” and off they went. When asked where do you go he would always say, “Wherever the front wheel would take us.” In keeping with Glen’s wishes, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Glen’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada. Memories, stories and condolences can be shared online at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com.
