Surrounded by her family at Trillium Health in Mississauga, Gillian passed away on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022. Gone too soon but never to be forgotten. She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years Desmond D’Silva. Loving Mother to Victoria (Simon), Matthew (Sam), and Kristen. Eldest Daughter of Victor and Pamela Albuquerque. Beloved Daughter to Jerome and Yvette D’Silva. Caring Sister to Alison (Jeff), Desiree, and Debbie (Farid). Gillian was a beacon of light and a guiding compass for her family and friends. Her piercing green eyes and captivating smile lit up any room she walked into, while her brilliant mind and intellect left a powerful impression. Her ability to connect and inspire those around her has led to the long lasting friendships she has nurtured over the years. Gillian was the ultimate trailblazer and adventure seeker who lived in the now. She will forever be remembered for her zest for life, quest for knowledge and incredible love for travelling the world and all the beauty it has to offer. She will be forever missed.
Gillian was a champion for women and for women’s health. As a Pharmacist, she had a special connection to the healthcare community. Although she sadly lost her battle to cancer, the Women’s College Hospital Foundation will help Gillian continue her philanthropic fight and leave behind an enduring legacy.
