The death of Gilda A. Gibson occurred at Lincourt Manor, St.
Stephen, N.B., on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. She was the daughter
of the late Annie (Cook) Greenlaw Weatherby and
step-daughter of Herbert Weatherby.
In addition to her husband, Wayne of 57 years, and her
beloved cats; Holly and Scooby, she will be missed by her brother Roy,
six nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gilda was predeceased by her parents, brother, Peter and
sister-in-law, Marilyn Greenlaw.
Gilda worked at the Dominion Store, then became co-manager of
Hills Limited and in later years prepared income
taxes.
Gilda was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed the history
of the Royal Family. She had a flair for decorating, especially at
Christmas time where she was known for her beautiful Christmas trees.
She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and rug hooking where she strived for
perfection.
Gilda was a giving person and generous with her time. For 12
years she voluntarily managed the gift shop of the Charlotte County
Hospital. This involved many hours of purchasing and displaying goods.
Gilda also volunteered almost daily for 20 years at the local SPCA.
She was responsible for the intake and care of kittens; a job she
enjoyed because of her love of cats.
In keeping with Gilda’s wishes there will be no
funeral service or visitation held.
Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St.
Stephen, N.B.
For those who wish, donations to the SPCA, Lincourt Manor or
