Obituary of Gilbert Ettinger
Ettinger, Gilbert Leon – 82 of Upper Kennetcook, passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2022, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Gormanville on October 20th, 1939, he was the son to the late Charles and Mary (White) Ettinger.
Gilbert lived most of his life in Upper Kennetcook, building a house on King St with his wife where they would raise their son Jeff and create many memories. He worked various jobs throughout his life including Barrett Lumber, Dineen Construction and later being self-employed working in the woods and delivering water.
When Gilbert wasn’t watching the Toronto Blue Jays play on tv, he enjoyed a good game of pool or a round of golf with his buddies. His true passion was cruising back country roads with his loving wife of 57 years Bernice. Gilbert also enjoyed hauling water as he was known as the “water man” to many and going to car shows with his 1966 Mercury Comet.
Gilbert is survived by loving wife Bernice, son Jeffery (Markitia), granddaughter Sonja Wile (Mark), great-granddaughter Heidi, siblings Marjorie (Owen) Patterson ONT, Gordon (Tena) Kennetcook, Lawerence (Karen) Noel Road, Florence (Bob) Connely Sackville, Paulette (Albert) White Sackville and Allen (Millie) Noel Road.
Besides his parents, Gilbert is predeceased by Brothers Owen (Adrienne) and Warnen (Judy)

There will be a private Graveside Committal Service held at a later date in the Kennetcook Cemetery.
